Yoga increases awareness of the body and what's going on inside. Mindful breathing and discussion can help children identify their emotions and begin to consciously regulate them. Mindfulness and meditation can help to develop attention and concentration, while positive affirmations help to build self-esteem.
Studies show that yoga may improve sleep quality by increasing melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleeping.
Yoga Allows children to be present in the moment and try to temper negative feelings. It encourages a sense of peace / calm. Yoga could aid digestion and help to rid the body of toxins. Developing flexibility, strength and stamina by practising yoga, helps children to be confident and at ease with their body.
